The Backstory of the Christmas Light Show
The Christmas Lite Show is brought to us by Bill Schrader. Bill and his family would spend the evenings leading up to Christmas driving around West Michigan to see all the homes and neighborhoods that were decorated for Christmas.
One Christmas season he decided create this on a much bigger scale, and asked the ballpark if he could use their parking lot.
The Christmas Light Show
The extravagant light show at LMCU Ballpark has been a staple in the West Michigan community since 1997. This is the largest drive-through light show in West Michigan, there is nearly 2 miles of Christmas light displays.
Over the years the team has grown from 5 to over 30 Veterans. They also went from mile-long extension cords and generators to power boxes, 100% LED lights and 8 full semi-trailers of lights.
The Christmas Lite Show last 40 nights ever year and see over 50,000 guests every year.
Walk, Drive, Bike, or Train
The Christmas Lite show offers 3 other options other than driving through the show. One night they offer a Reindeer Bike Ride.
This provides a unique light show experience. This allows you to set your own pace and stop and take photos along the 2-mile route.
Another night they offer a Winter Wonder Walk, just like the bike ride, this allows you to set your own pace to see the over a million lights in a different perspective.
You are able to stop and take photos and enjoy the Christmas magic up close. At the Winter Wonder Walk, they even have a special appearance from Santa and his reindeer.
Most people choose to use the drive-through option on the other nights but these could be fun options for your family. The last option is to rent a seat on the Memory Lane Train.
This is offered on regular nights at different times throughout the night. The Memory Lane Train is an open-air train so you will need to dress accordingly.
